RME: Religous and Moral Education
IN THIS LESSON
Learners will be taught the story of Noahs Ark and why the rainbow is significant.
Explicit
Children will learn that - in the bible – as described in Genisis 9, God promises to never again destroy the Earth with a flood. He made this promise to himself, Noah and humanity. He placed a rainbow in the clouds to guarantee that waters will not become a flood again and destroy life.
Connect the Learning
Rainbows are a symbol of hope and a reminder to all, including God, that the Earth shall never be destroyed again. A wonder in nature when light from the sun reflects in the inner surface of a droplet. Depending on the angle of the sun, the suns colours separate and create a rainbow.
